Known as a little slice of heaven, Solana Beach is a bustling small coastal suburb sitting atop Pacific Ocean bluffs, a few miles from northern San Diego. The neighborhood is warm and friendly — the kind of town where both new residents and inhabitants can enjoy life. In fact, the name Solana means a sunny spot in Spanish, which describes the small town.

In the early 1920s, the present-day Solana Beach began to develop rapidly after the creation of the Lake Hodges dam, which led to the expansion of the whole area, starting from Rancho Santa Fe to Solana Beach. In 1986, the town was incorporated and decades later witnessed various developments, including Cedros Design District and Solana Beach train station.

The housing market ever since has been growing steadily, and homes here are among the most expensive towns in California and the U.S. as a whole, with a median listing of $1,315,000. Some of the best neighborhoods include Lomas Santa Fe Country Club and San Elijo Hills.
